A FAMILY whose two Jack Russells were snatched from their Aberdeenshire home claim they have been plagued by cruel hoax calls about the dogs’ whereabouts.

Jack Russells Sophie and Sam vanished from outside a St Cyrus business almost four weeks ago.

Since then, desperate owner Heather Harrison, 51, has ravelled as far as Alloa – almost 100 miles away – on tip-offs and sightings of the Jack Russells which have turned out to be hoaxes.

Mrs Harrison, who lives at Steptoe’s Yard, a furniture business and farm a St Cyrus, said the Jack Russells were in the car park when they vanished.

“They never go off on their own,” Mrs Harrison added.

Mrs Harrison and her husband Peter, 61, reported the Jack Russell dogs stolen to Grampian Police.

But weeks later Mr and Mrs Harrison are still reeling from the disappearance of Sophie and Sam.

A Grampian Police spokesman said: “We received a complaint about the theft of two Jack Russells. Inquiries are ongoing.”
