A FRASERBURGH model was today preparing to make her mark on the silver screen with a new film.
Fraserburgh beauty Lianne Robertson has just finished shooting a film which will make its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
The 22-year-old student and part-time model appears in Secrets, a film created by Kemal Yildirim, as office worker Jennifer.
And the Fraserburgh girl has also appeared in another of the director’s films, Crossed Paths, where she played the leading role.
Lianne, who is in her final year studying drama at Northampton University, said she had always hoped to become an actress.
“I started off performing at the Fraserburgh Junior Arts Society when I was at school and studied drama for two years at Aberdeen College before going to Northampton,” she said.
“When I was younger, my dream was always to perform on stage but now that I have been in a number of films, I definitely want to pursue a career in film.
“It is a tough industry to crack so when opportunities come along you have to grab them with both hands.”
The former Fraserburgh Academy pupil, who lost her mum to cancer when she was a teenager, said she would not be where she was today without the backing of her family.
“My whole family has been very supportive of my career and I try to come home to Fraserburgh to see them whenever I can,” she said.
“I think that the film will be really good publicity for my career and if someone picks it up, I hope that I’ll be able to get an agent to represent me.”
