RUBBISH was piling up at an Aberdeen car park being used as a camp by rogue Travellers, residents claimed.

Rogue Travellers with around a dozen caravans have moved into a site at Balgownie Road in Aberdeen.

And one Aberdeen resident said the rogue Travellers’ encampment was the biggest he had seen in the community.

The rogue Travellers have moved into the One Sports car park, in Aberdeen’s Bridge of Don.

Kevin Clarke, 25, who lives in nearby Balgownie Way, Aberdeen, hit out at the group of rogue Travellers and claimed neighbouring houses were having to put up with rubbish and noise.

Mr Clarke said: “There are more than a dozen caravans and piles of rubbish everywhere. It’s a complete eyesore.

“I have heard them arguing and shouting at their kids.”

He added people were now “too intimidated” to go near the Aberdeen car park.

Mr Clarke also expressed concern the rogue Travellers would leave the rubbish behind when they move on from the Aberdeen site.

He said: “It’s what they leave behind when they go that’s the problem.”

The rogue Travellers at the Aberdeen site were approached but did not wish to comment.

Ownership of the private car park in Aberdeen was unclear after One Sports went into liquidation.

Another group of rogue Travellers have set up camp in the car park of Scotstown Moor, in Aberdeen’s Bridge of Don.

And the Evening Express revealed a group of rogue Travellers left chaos behind when they moved out of Baird Park in Stonehaven at the weekend.
