AN ABERDEEN woman who invented a foam hat to protect youngsters’ heads as they learn to walk has been honoured.
Kelly Forsyth-Gibson, whose Thudguard invention was featured on The Apprentice, was named among the final five in the innovation category of the John Logie Baird Awards at a ceremony at Glasgow Science Centre.
Mrs Forsyth-Gibson, 43, said: “I was very pleased to get into the national awards. There were hundreds of people nominated.
“This rewards me for never giving up.”
The mum-of-three, of Hazlehead Crescent, Aberdeen created Thudguard 12 years ago after her daughter Ashleigh, then aged one, fell and bumped her head.
During a search for a lightweight helmet for youngsters, Mrs Forsyth-Gibson found there was a gap in the market.
