ABERDEEN man Elvis Presley, named after the musical legend, has admitted attacking a policeman – just weeks after being fined for spitting on another officer.
Presley, who changed his name by deed poll from Paul Lawrie, was arrested after trying to punch an officer at Grampian Police’s headquarters on Queen Street, Aberdeen.
Presley admitted assaulting Pc Christopher Taylor when he appeared from custody at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
The 33-year-old also sent repeated threats to Elizabeth Ritchie and others via a public communications network.
Presley admitted causing annoyance, inconvenience and needless anxiety to his victims by sending the threats from a property on Balnagask Road, Aberdeen.
The guilty pleas came less than three weeks after Presley told the Evening Express he was “sorry” for his previous behaviour.
He had been fined £330 for spitting at a police officer and trying to get into Exodus nightclub, Schoolhill, Aberdeen, while drunk.
Both incidents happened on January 28 this year.
Presley, whose address was given in court papers as 18 Linksfield Court, Aberdeen, was released on bail following his recent offence and is to face sentence next month.
Presley, who attends monthly Elvis nights at a social club in Aberdeen and has plastered his walls with pictures of his hero, changed his name in tribute.
