ABERDEEN crime writer Stuart MacBride wants people to help him film a promotional trailer.
The leading author, whose novels are mainly set in Aberdeen, needs people to play the part of an angry mob.
Oldmeldrum-based Stuart MacBride, who is promoting his new book, Dark Blood.
Book trailers are shown on the internet on YouTube and book retailers’ and publishers’ websites.
Stuart said: “Normally, book trailers are fairly static things – a couple of photographs and some cheesy music.
“We are kind of pushing the boat out a little far on this one and basically pretending that it’s a film.”
And Stuart MacBride doesn’t have a figure in mind for the number of extras he wants for his filming session at Aberdeen’s Victoria Park between 2pm and 4pm tomorrow.
“I’m looking for as many as want to come and be an angry mob,” he said.
“The only stipulation is to dress as if it’s the depths of winter.”
He added: “How often do you get to be part of a huge angry mob without the threat of naughtiness? It should be nice and easy, a bit of fun – and the more the merrier.”
Dark Blood, due to hit the bookshelves on April 28, is the sixth in Stuart’s hugely popular Logan McRae series set in Aberdeen.
He said: “It’s about what happens when another police force manage to palm of one of their sex offenders on Grampian Police.”
