A DRINK driver was found by police in his caravan after he had been involved in an accident.
ANDRIS KUDRENICKIS, 36, was banned for 18 months after he admitted driving while almost three times the legal limit on the B9170 New Deer to Cuminestown road last month.
Fiscal depute Margaret Porter told Peterhead Sheriff Court: “There had been an accident and police traced the accused to his caravan.”
Defence agent Stuart Flowerdew said Kudrenickis had no previous convictions for drink driving.
His wife was in Latvia and was seven months pregnant, he added.
And Kudrenickis was earning money in order to help raise his child, added Mr Flowerdew.
Sheriff Marysia Lewis banned Kudrenickis, whose address was given in court papers as Aultown of Carnousie, Forglen, Aberdeenshire, for 18 months. She also fined him a total of £450.
MICHAEL SUTHERLAND, 28, admitted crashing into two cars in Aberdeen after getting behind the wheel while over the legal limit.
He also admitted at Aberdeen Sheriff Court driving while banned and without any insurance.
The court heard he was spotted on Aberdeen’s School Road on July 5 last year.
Sutherland admitted four charges at the city’s sheriff court, including driving carelessly.
He collided with a car as well as another vehicle which was parked on the street.
Sheriff Kieran McLernan deferred sentence on the drink driver so reports could be prepared.
Sutherland, whose address was given in court papers as flat F-6, Seaton Gardens, Aberdeen, has been ordered to return to court for sentence next month.
