AN ABERDEEN has denied driving dangerously at more than double the speed limit on a city street.

Kenneth Stewart, 48, was alleged to have driven dangerously and in excess of the speed limit on Aberdeen’s North Esplanade West on October 23 last year.

Stewart was alleged to have driven in the Aberdeen street without regard for pedestrians or prevailing weather conditions and traffic.

He also faced an alternative charge of driving at 67mph – more than double the 30mph speed limit for the stretch of North Esplanade West.

Stewart, whose address was given in court papers as 90d John Street, Aberdeen, denied the charges against him when he appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.

The case was continued until July.
