TWO men have been jailed for being involved in a £50,000 drugs operation in Aberdeen.

Lawrence Mandudzo, 25, and David McIntosh, 44, were arrested after police swooped on an Aberdeen property on October 20 last year.

Mandudzo admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin and McIntosh admitted being involved in the supply of cocaine at flat 32b Sandilands Drive, Aberdeen.

The High Court in Aberdeen heard the raid came after a deal between groups in England and Aberdeen.

Mandudzo was sentenced to four years in prison while McIntosh was ordered to spend five years and 219 days behind bars.

When the men admitted the charges in January, it was revealed the value of the drugs in the operation amounted to around £50,000.

Defence counsel Ronald Renucci said Mandudzo, originally from Zimbabwe, agreed to come to Aberdeen from England to oversee the cutting and packaging of drugs.

He said the dad-of-one had become involved with drugs to get cash after failing to find a job because he was subject to a deportation order.

Defence counsel Shahid Latif argued McIntosh had also become involved in the drugs operation after struggling to find a job because of his previous convictions.

Mr Latif said: “He reverted back into the lifestyle he had tried to leave behind.

“He allowed his flat to be used, knowing what it was to be used for,” Mr Latif added.

Sentencing the men, Lord Matthews said both had “fairly extensive criminal records”.
