PETERHEAD boss Neale Cooper today admitted his side’s hectic run of fixtures could be starting to take its toll.

The Blue Toon face their fourth game in 10 days tonight when they travel to face Stenhousemuir.

Cooper’s men looked a little heavy-legged on Saturday against Stirling, and the Balmoor boss today accepted his players may be starting to feel the effects of their hectic schedule.

He said: “At times on Saturday I felt the boys needed to be a bit sharper.

“They looked a bit tired.

“They weren’t as sharp as they can be, but then again we have had a few games in a short space of time.

“It’s important to make sure the players are well rested when they get the chance, because we have a lot of midweek fixtures coming up.”

The Blue Toon travel to Ochilview Park tonight looking for a win to keep them in touch with the play-off places.

They will be missing key players David Donald and Bobby Mann through injury.

Talismanic hitman Martin Bavidge was expected to miss the game with a stomach strain, but he could be passed fit.

Peterhead will definitely be boosted by the form of Paul Emslie, on-loan from Rangers.
