TRIBUTES were today paid to a teenager and a lorry driver killed in a head-on crash on the A947 Aberdeen to Banff road.
Stacey King, 19, from Macduff, who was driving a Peugeot 206, was described as “an angel”.
And lorry driver Douglas Gray, 62, from Glass, near Huntly, was said to be a “great dad”.
The Peugeot and the lorry were in a smash on the A947 Aberdeen to Banff road.
Both victims died at the scene of the crash on the A947 Aberdeen to Banff road.
The latest deaths bring the number of people killed on Aberdeen-area roads this year to six.
One tribute left at the crash scene said: “Lovely Stacey. Sweet dreams our precious wee niece. Auntie Jackie and Uncle George.”
Another left by the teenager’s auntie Rhona and uncle Oliver said: “To our darling angel. You will always be with us no matter what.
“You were like a special daughter to us.”
A tribute left by the lorry driver’s daughter Karen said: “I keep thinking this is a bad dream and that it’s nae real. You were a great dad, a wonderful grandad, son, brother and uncle.”
Mr Gray worked for Turriff-based Harbro.
Managing director of the firm Graham Baxter said: “All our thoughts are with the families right now. This has just been a real tragedy and very sad news for everyone who knew them.”
Sergeant Neil Morrison said: “Yet again we find ourselves dealing with another tragic incident on our roads.
“This has been a particularly challenging situation and my thoughts are with the family of those involved.”
