ARRESTS were made in the hunt for a five-year-old British boy snatched by armed raiders in Pakistan.
Sahil Saeed, from Oldham, was taken from his grandmother’s house in Punjab by men wielding guns and grenades who subjected the family to a six-hour ordeal.
Police in Pakistan confirmed their first arrest amid reports the country’s authorities are confident Sahil could be freed within 24 hours.
And Wajid Shamsul Hasan, the Pakistani High Commissioner in the UK, said he believed police officers in Punjab were “on the right track” to recover Sahil.
But he added detectives were looking at the possibility of whether the kidnap involved “a sort of inside job”.
The attackers are said to have demanded a £100,000 ransom for the Sahil’s return.
Mr Hasan said: “There’s a possibility of someone in the family having some sort of knowledge.”
Sahil’s mum cried as she begged the kidnappers not to hurt her son.
Akila Naqqash, 31, said there was “no way” her family could afford the six-figure ransom on his head.
