Driver in hospital after accident in Bridge of Don

A WOMAN was cut free from her wrecked car after a crash in Aberdeen.
The car ploughed through a fence after leaving the road in Aberdeen’s Bridge of Don.
Firefighters had to cut the roof off the Renault Megane to get the trapped woman out.
The woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with minor neck injuries and was kept in overnight for observation.
The car crash happened on Denmore Road in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, just after 8pm.
The driver – thought to be in her 20s – was freed by Grampian Fire and Rescue Service crew after her car left the road before careering through a security fence in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.
The car crash happened near the entrance to Denmore Industrial Estate in Aberdeen.
Police today said no other vehicles were believed to have been involved in the accident in Aberdeen and the driver was understood to have been the only person in the car.
The collision in Aberdeen’s Bridge of Don, left the front of the Renault badly damaged, shearing off part of the wing.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a rapid response and accident and emergency units attended the scene of the Aberdeen crash.
She said: “We took a woman to hospital, as a precautionary measure, after she complained of a sore neck.”
A police spokeswoman said the driver remained in hospital in Aberdeen overnight.
The Aberdeen road was closed for a short time after the crash while the emergency services removed the vehicle and cleared away debris from the area.
