MARK McGhee today admitted he does not care if Aberdeen FC win ugly at Hamilton – as long as they get three points.

Struggling Aberdeen FC were today set to face Accies on the back of a run of eight games without a win.

McGhee has tried to instil a philosophy of attacking, entertaining football since arriving at Pittodrie last summer.

But after three straight defeats he is ready to win at any cost against Accies.

The Aberdeen FC manager said: “We have to win today.”

“To do that, every player will have to dig in and fight for the entire 90 minutes.

“We all need to show some grit and determination to scrap for the three points.

“If we also play expressive, expansive football, all the better.

“But all that matters is getting a win and three points.

“We have to be prepared to do anything to get a win, and really battle it out.

“Losing the last three games is terrible, and that run cannot continue today.”

Aberdeen trail Hearts by eight points in the race for a spot in the SPL’s top six when the table splits in mid April.

Seven games to save the season.

That is all the Dons have to overhaul that deficit, although they do hold a vital game in hand over the Jambos.
