NEW Scotland boss Craig Levein has imposed a booze ban on his players.
Levein is taking a firm line to ensure there is no repeat of the “Boozegate” scandal involving Allan McGregor and Barry Ferguson.
Levein who will take charge of his first game as national boss tomorrow in a friendly with the Czech Republic, informed the squad of his expectations at a team meeting.
Levein warned the players that they will not be allowed to touch a drop of alcohol while on Scotland duty. Levein’s assistant Peter Houston said: “Craig is a great believer we are here to work. He did the same at club level.”
