Schools closed again by weather

UP to 28 inches of snow has fallen in parts of Aberdeenshire in the past few days.
Weather experts said another 6 to 8in (15 to 20cm) had fallen on high ground including Braemar, Ballater and Huntly.
A Met Office spokesman said the current snow depth was about 20in (50cm), although a total of up to 28in of snow has fallen in Aberdeenshire in the last 48 hours.
Nearly 80 schools in Aberdeenshire were affected by the weather, with 40 closed totally.
Snow, sleet and rain were expected to dry up later today and the forecast for the weekend and early next week was for dry but cold weather.
It was understood the weather in the Aberdeen area was set to improve in the next fortnight.
Forecasters were predicting sunnier weather from Sunday, with temperatures reaching 9C (48F) by Friday, March 12.
