RONAN Keating took to the stage at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre and declared the Granite City was “absolutely freezing”.
But the “fantastic” welcome the Boyzone star got from thousands of screaming fans in Aberdeen certainly warmed his heart.
Following last month’s tour of Australia, Boyzone star Ronan returned on a bitterly cold winter’s night to end the Scottish leg of his UK tour in Aberdeen.
The shivering temperatures in AECC refused to dampen the spirits of the Aberdeen crowd, who began singing along before Ronan had even taken to the stage, led by support act Don Mescall in a singalong version of All Over Again.
The Aberdeen crowd erupted as the blonde, smiling Ronan Keating appeared with his guitar, laid-back style, instantly recognisable voice and Irish charm for an AECC gig filled with memories and packed with songs old and new.
The Way You Make Me Feel, from Ronan Keating’s first solo album, gave the Boyzone star a chance to work the AECC crowd.
Ronan Keating showed exactly why he is the master of ballads with awe inspiring performances of If Tomorrow Never Comes and When You Say Nothing At All from movie Notting Hill.
Irish crooner Ronan captured the hearts of the Aberdeen audience with a wonderful rendition of the Celtic classic Wild Mountain Thyme.
Paying tribute to his fellow Boyzone member Stephen Gately, who died last October, Ronan sang In This Life to his memory, and spoke movingly and honestly about his anguish over the loss of his best friend.
The Long Goodbye ended the AECC show with Ronan’s promise – “I guess I’m coming back to Aberdeen”.
