Domino’s Pizza: Wellington Road, Torry

GOOD old Domino’s doesn’t seem to be paying attention to the news of shrinking portion sizes.
At more than 11 inches, their “medium” pizzas could feed an army.
And I decided my medium should be a Tandoori Hot with extra birdseye chilli (£12.99).
I was rewarded with plenty of smoky, surprisingly authentic-tasting chicken tikka chunks, jalapeno pepper, green peppers, mushroom, onion and birdseye chilli.
The base was thin but even so, slightly too flabby. But in a nice touch, the crusts were given extra ... well ... crustiness from cornmeal on the top.
The missus, still eating healthily, got a Veg-a-roma with reduced fat cheese (£12.49).
The base was a sundried tomato and garlic sauce, richer and distinct from the regular tomato. Topped with onions, mushrooms, green peppers and herbs, it packed a surprisingly powerful punch.
And we were pleased to find the low-calorie stuff was almost no different from regular cheese.
A portion of potato wedges (£2.99) was also plentiful and well seasoned, but lacking crispness.
With a few dips, it came to just under £30, but with medium being the new large, I’m not complaining.
