THE sound of The Beatles is set to return to Aberdeen this year.
The Bootleg Beatles, the world’s most successful tribute band, will be appearing at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre’s P&J Arena on Saturday, December 11.
Tickets for the Bootleg Beatles’ Aberdeen show are already on sale and there is expected to be a strong demand.
Brian Horsburgh, the AECC’s managing director, said: “We are delighted the AECC will be a stop on The Bootleg Beatles tour later this year.
“Getting a chance to see the ‘Fab Four’ live on stage in Aberdeen is not to be missed.”
The Bootleg Beatles first met in 1979 when they auditioned to play John, Paul, George and Ringo for the West End musical Beatlemania.
The Beatles musical closed after just six months but they decided to use their Beatles experience to form a band.
Thirty years later The Bootleg Beatles have gone from strength to strength and played more than 4,000 performances around the world.
The band have been together longer than The Beatles, who were together for less than 10 years and, during the height of Beatlemania, only toured for three years.
Using original instruments ranging from Ludwig Drums to Rickenbacker guitars, The Bootleg Beatles produce an authentic 60s sound.
The Bootleg Beatles, due to play Aberdeen in December, have a huge following, including high-profile backers like Liam and Noel Gallagher.
And The Bootleg Beatles have also played Wembley with Rod Stewart and Elton John, and shared the bill with David Bowie and Iggy Pop.
