Westminster scandals are top talking point

Parliament and Katie fuel debates

Published: 10/02/2010

DEAR readers, I’m sorry to report that this will be my final column.

I’ve had a good wee run and shared a few laughs but, alas, all good things must come to an end.

I hope you have enjoyed and found them interesting and perhaps informative, where appropriate.

The scandals that have rocked the corridors of power in recent months in the UK, including the banks bail-out, have certainly made my job as a writer a lot easier.

I could always rely on the corruption of Westminster or the life and times of Jordan, no I mean Katie Price, oh wait a minute its Jordan again.

But seriously, though, I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to stand and shout from my own wee platform and I want to thank the Evening Express for allowing me to rant to my heart’s content.

On a lighter and brighter note, I can exclusively report that I will be signing a new record deal this week for my new album and will no doubt once again descend into a frenzy of interviews and long distance flights.

A whole lot of “blah blah blah” and “oooh yes” in the style of Churchill the dog will ensue.

And when they invite the 235th journalist of the day into my dishevelled hotel room who asks the question: “So Sandi, what does this album mean to you?”, I will reply with the recipe for lentil soup.

And now the end is here and so I face the final curtain …

But I’ll be back – coming to a Music Hall, Arts Centre and O2 venue near you throughout the rest of this year.

I’m on countdown to launch at the moment and it will soon be lift-off.

April and May will be spent touring the UK and Ireland and then it’s the busy summer festival season throughout July and August.

I’ve even postponed my nuptials because I’m a busy little bride-to-be.

I’ll be back in Aberdeen playing The Lemon Tree in May, so please do stop by if you care to hear material from my new album Merchants & Thieves which will be released in May. Now, in the words of Bill and Ted: “Be excellent to each other and party on, dudes.”
