Eight cars involved in accidents

EIGHT cars were involved in a number of crashes today, with two people injured.
The first crash saw a yellow Skoda Fabia career off the A92 Stonehaven to Montrose road just after 6.50am.
Police said the driver was trapped, with the road closed for almost an hour near Inverbervie.
The man was freed from the car before being taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance.
Police today said his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
Minutes later, a black Citroen C3 was involved in a crash on the B974 Banchory to Laurencekirk road, near Edzell. The male driver of the car was taken to ARI.
A Grampian Police spokesman said: “The man was complaining of shoulder injuries.”
And six cars were involved in a crash on the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road, north of Portlethen.
A Grampian Police spokesman said: “No one was trapped in their vehicle and no injuries were suffered.”
The spokeswoman urged drivers to be careful in the treacherous conditions. She said: “Be observant, slow down and try not to brake too sharply.
“Increase the distance between you and the vehicle in front so, if you do need to slow or stop, you can do so safely.”
A Met Office forecaster today said a severe weather warning was issued for the North-east after low temperatures and rain overnight brought ice on the roads.
He said: “The warnings were in place until 6am.
