MUSIC legend Jools Holland is heading for Aberdeen as part of his autumn UK tour.
And joining his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra for the first time will be the iconic singer and songwriter Alison Moyet.
Tickets for the Granite City gig, at the P&J Arena of Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on November 18, are expected to be snapped up by fans when they go on sale on Friday.
Jools Holland became a household name with Squeeze before becoming a national treasure through his TV presenting work.
And Jools said he was looking forward to the tour, which will also feature his regular vocalists Ruby Turner and the soulful Louise Marshall.
Jools said: “These are shaping up to be some our best shows yet. Not only do we have the truly remarkable talents of Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall, but we will be joined for the first time by the incredible Alison Moyet.
“Her voice is truly unique and has a blues and soul quality that fits perfectly into the Rhythm and Blues Orchestra party.”
Alison Moyet was one of the voices of the 1980s, first with Yazoo then as a multi-million selling artist with her solo debut album, Alf.
Between 1984 and 1987 Alison Moyet was Britain’s biggest female solo star.
While Jools has played other venues in the Aberdeen area before, this is his orchestra’s first gig at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
Brian Horsburgh, managing director of the AECC, said: “We are thrilled to announce that Jools and his orchestra will be appearing at the AECC for the first time.”
