Wok Wok: Crown Street, Aberdeen

AH, WOK Wok – the takeaway that’s so good they named it twice.

Already one of our favourites, the fact that we’ve just moved in down the road meant that the draw of this lovely little Chinese carry-out was always going to be too tough to resist.

And so resist we didn’t, and after tasting our salt and chilli squid (£5) starter we knew we’d chosen well.

Tender seafood in a lip-smacking, fiery coating, there was so much of it that we were glad we’d chosen to share.

For my main course I’d plumped for the crispy chilli beef (£5.40). It was mouth-wateringly rich and tangy, although if I was being critical there was possibly more of the crispy than of the beef about it.

No such problems with my girlfriend’s chicken with cashew nuts in a yellow bean sauce (£5.20).

The chunks of poultry were massive and there was plenty of the rich sauce to be mopped up by the fried rice (£1.70).

Wok Wok? We’ll definitely be back back!
