BLACK ice caused several crashes on roads around Aberdeen.

And today emergency services were scrambled to another crash, which was not thought to be related to the ice, when a blue Renault and blue MG collided just south of Portlethen on the northbound A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road.

Four cars, including a silver Ford Fiesta, crashed off the B9170 Inverurie to Oldmeldrum road, near Barra Castle, although no one was injured.

And emergency crews rescued a woman trapped inside her blue Renault Clio after it landed on its roof on the A96 Inverurie to Kintore road.
