WITH the festive season over, my friends and I were desperate for a break from stodge.
And Revolution’s Ciao Bella Italian menu provided the perfect remedy.
Sitting beside the patio doors, we had a great view of the snow falling as we ordered our Mediterranean food.
After much catching up, Kristen opted for the chilli meat balls penne (£5.95).
The tomato based sauce was deliciously fruity, with a hint of a kick. But the small portion and dry, lukewarm meat balls were a disappointment.
Michelle’s chicken Milanese focaccia (£5.50), was a lot more satisfying.
The tender chicken and tasty rosemary bread, with lashings of mozzarella and rocket was a really tasty combination. Her only gripe was the lack of chilli pesto as promised on the menu.
Always up for something different, I opted for Revolution vodka pizza (£7.95).
The chilli vodka-infused chicken was delicious, as was the fruity tomato base. And with eight slices, heaped with goats cheese, rocket and balsamic dressing, I needed a helping hand from the other two.
We grabbed a portion of onion rings to share (£1.50) and, after abusing our livers during the festivities, we opted for a water, coke and a soda water with lime to wash the food down.
Coming to £23.05, we agreed it was refreshing to leave the table satisfied but without feeling like we were set to burst.
