ALEXANDRA BURKE, one of the country’s best-known pop stars, could be making a dramatic return to Peterhead.
Former X Factor winner Alexandra was invited to Peterhead Scottish Week during an intimate gig in the Blue Toon last month.
And singer Alexandra, who charmed the crowd with her down-to-earth personality, vowed to return during the Peterhead gala event.
Now Scottish Week organisers are to make contact with Alexandra’s agents to see if she will fulfil her promise.
A member of the Peterhead gala committee, who was in the crowd, invited her to come to next year’s event, which is due to take place in July.
Alexandra replied: “If you send me the details I’ll give you an e-mail.”
Graham Barron, who is chairman of the Scottish Week committee, said: “We have her agent’s contact details.
“We will certainly be pursuing it, that’s for sure.
“It will be interesting to see what happens.”
Alexandra, 21, said during the gig: “I have got to do this again.
“I want to come back to Peterhead.”
And, just minutes after she came off stage, she wrote on her Twitter page: “Peterhead, I love you guys.
“ I'm coming back for sure.”
The Buchan port won the exclusive gig in a nationwide contest run by phone giant Nokia.
Peterhead beat competition from 500 other UK towns and cities.
More than 14 million people watched Burke win the X Factor in 2008.
