CRAIG Levein was set to be unveiled as the new Scotland boss at Hampden later today.
The SFA were expected to agree a £250,000 compensation package with Dundee United to clear Levein to succeed George Burley as national coach.
Levein met SFA chief executive Gordon Smith in Edinburgh last night to thrash out a deal.
He then informed United chairman Stephen Thompson that he has decided to move on after three years in charge at Tannadice.
