Video: Hundreds enjoy husky rides

CROWDS of people saw 40 beautiful huskies pulling sledges – in Stonehaven.

Wattie McDonald organised sled rides, a husky parade with Santa and a piper, at the town’s Mineralwell Park on Saturday and Sunday.

The event took place as part of the 45-year-old’s fundraising towards a trip to Alaska in January to compete in the world’s longest sled race, the Iditarod.

Wattie, of Stonehaven, said: “It was a magical weekend.” Wattie, who lives with his wife Wendy, leaves for his Alaskan challenge on January 8.
