Police called after Wellington Road incident

A RUNAWAY lorry trailer crashed through a fence and landed on its side on a busy Aberdeen road today.

Police were called to the scene of the crash on Aberdeen’s Wellington Road at about 10.25am.

The lorry container was left lying on its side in the car park of the Nigg Post Office after the incident.

The road was closed off for more than an hour after the crash, near the junction with West Tullos Road.

A police spokesman said: “No one was injured but the road was closed southbound to allow the container to be recovered.”
