CHERYL Cole has criticised the “mean campaign” threatening to keep her protege, Joe McElderry, out of the Christmas number one spot.
The Girls Aloud star said she hoped his song, The Climb, beats Rage Against The Machine in the race for the top of the charts. She said she would be “gutted for him” if he missed out on the number one slot.
