Bill’s Wok Inn: Kingswells Avenue, Kingswells

THERE was a gathering for my birthday at my place – so a meal from the Chinese was top of my wish-list.

As the posse gathered, I thought set dinner B for a minimum of two at £15 was good.

Luckily, my friends were impressed with the sound of butterfly king prawns, satay chicken skewers, BBQ spare ribs and crispy seaweed.

And they were sold on the aromatic crispy duck, steak canton, honey chilli chicken, stir fried vegetables, Szechuan king prawns, special fried rice and noodles.

We had to divvy up the chicken satay sticks between us, but our starters were delicious.

My only quibble with the aromatic duck was there wasn’t enough, even though there were lots of pancakes, cucumber, and spring onion. But, by the time I tried the honey chilli chicken and special fried rice, all was forgiven.

The best bit in any Chinese takeaway is the leftovers – which I cheerily ate the following day.
