PETERHEAD was wowed by a dazzling gig from X Factor star Alexandra Burke.
The singer charmed the audience at Peterhead’s Waterside Inn, performing her hits and a new single.
And Alexandra Burke was so impressed that she vowed to return to the Blue Toon.
She performed the intimate gig in front of around 100 fans.
The 21-year-old said: “I have got to do this again. I want to come back to Peterhead.”
Alexandra opened with her new single Broken Heels, and also sang last year’s Christmas number one Hallelujah.
And to finish her set, which lasted almost an hour, Alexandra performed the hit Bad Boys to rapturous applause. Picture Gallery
The star was even invited to the biggest social event in the town’s calendar – Peterhead Scottish Week – during the show.
Speaking after the gig, Alexandra said: “I went for a long walk along the beach in Peterhead and had some of the famous fish and chips, which were delicious.”
And just minutes after she came off stage, she tweeted on her Twitter page: “Peterhead, I love you guys. Thank you so much for being so amazing. I'm coming back for sure.”
Travel and tourism students Chloe Hepburn and Shelley McWilliam, both 16 and from Peterhead, were impressed with the gig.
Chloe said: “She seemed really nice and interacted well with the crowd.”
Shelley added: “I thought she was really good.”
The Buchan port won the exclusive gig in a nationwide contest, beating competition from 500 other UK towns and cities.
