A POWERFUL sports car – worth more than £100,000 – was involved in a road crash in Aberdeen, police said today.
The crash on Aberdeen’s North Anderson Drive involved an Audi R8 and a Vauxhall Astra van.
No one was seriously injured in the crash in Aberdeen but the top-of-the-range Audi – which can cost about £103,000 from a dealership – was badly damaged.
It was thought repairs to the sports car could cost upwards of £10,000. The royal blue Audi sports car had its front left wheel smashed in, while the silver Astra was severely dented on the driver’s side.
Passing motorists slowed to admire the sleek sports car as police took details from the two drivers.
A Grampian Police spokesman said the crash happened at 3.10pm yesterday on the southbound Aberdeen carriageway, opposite Marathon Oil UK, but added no major traffic delays were caused.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said neither of the men needed hospital treatment after the Aberdeen crash.
