NEWHILLS cruised to a comfortable win against local rivals Bucksburn in this League Four clash.

The first chance of the match fell to Newhills’ Lewis Burt after Andrew Green picked him out at the back post, but he volleyed wide.

Newhills opened the scoring on eight minutes when Lewis HUTCHISON broke through the defence and slotted past keeper Sam Mackie.

They doubled their lead minutes later when Matthew BOAG picked up the ball at the back post and fired home.

BOAG then scored his second in the 14th minute after a good cross from Hutchison.

Newhills made it 4-0 on 25 minutes when Louis SPENCE found the net after a goalmouth scramble caused by Scott Farquharson’s cross.

Two minutes into the second half, HUTCHISON capped off a great solo run down the right by firing into the bottom corner.

Bucksburn were unlucky not to pull one back in the 35th minute after Shaun Chatham fed the ball through for Aaron Amit, but keeper Ashley Morrison did well to prevent the goal.

Newhills made it six, seven minutes into the second half when Spence cut open the defence with an excellent ball for HUTCHISON, who sealed his hat-trick.

Bucksburn began to press in an attempt to salvage some pride from the game, but Kyle Mackay’s effort was saved as well by Morrison.

Fantastic defending prevented Newhills from a seventh. Ewan Cameron broke through, but a heroic sliding tackle from Sean Simpson meant that Grant Marnoch could clear.

Bucksburn finally found the net in the dying minutes. Chatham’s corner found Mackay, but his effort was deflected to the feet of BARRY who smashed home.
