SKIERS and snowboarders flocked to Aberdeen’s snowsports centre as a huge inflatable cushion offered a softer landing.
The Airbag has been taken around the UK in a bid to encourage snowsport enthusiasts to try out mid-air tricks without fears of a heavy landing.
Dave Jacobs, general manager at the Aberdeen Snowsports Centre, said: “This is the first time we have had The Airbag here, but we are hoping to get it back again.”
He added: “We have a lot of young kids who come here, and this gives them a great opportunity to practice their freestyle tricks safely, and it gives them the confidence to take on some more challenging jumps.”
One of the skiers who used The Airbag at Aberdeen Snowsports Centre was student Alex Isidorovs, 20.
He said: “You do not have to be brave, you can just do whatever you like and know you are going to be all right at the end of it.”
Nick Rees, who runs The Airbag scheme, said: “We would definitely like to come back to Aberdeen.”
