PETERHEAD manager Neale Cooper today admitted he will step up his search for reinforcements.
The Blue Toon boss insisted his squad is too small as he looks to mount a serious promotion challenge.
Cooper’s options were limited as his side were dumped out of the Scottish Cup by Raith Rovers at Balmoor.
Influential duo Martin Bavidge and Graeme Sharp were missing, and the bench included four teenagers, two of whom are still at school.
Cooper said: “Raith were able to call on experienced players like Graeme Weir off the bench, and we had a boy who has to get up early to do his paper-round.
“We badly missed Martin Bavidge and Graeme Sharp, two real star players for us.”
The Gothenburg Great admitted he will be looking to bring players into the club in an effort to improve his strength in depth.
Cooper also warned he may be looking to move some players on if he does not see an improvement.
“I need to strengthen,” he said. “I’ve spoken to the chairman and told him I would like to put a few players to him.
“There are one or two boys who need to do better, and I’m not going to hang about for them.
“So some may go in January, and some may come in.
“We need a big push now and whoever is playing had better perform.”
