A FULL emergency was launched at Aberdeen Airport after a plane’s windscreen cracked in mid-air.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were scrambled to Aberdeen airport as the Eastern Airways flight headed back to the city.
The drama began about 10 minutes after the Saab 2000 aircraft took off from the airport, as its windscreen cracked in mid-air.
An airline spokeswoman said: “Shortly after departure from Aberdeen the captain reported a small crack in the windscreen’s multi-layered toughened glass.”
All 38 passengers boarded another aircraft at Aberdeen airport yesterday after landing and took off at 9.50am, arriving in Scatsta in Shetland at 10.50am.
