DEVERONVALE co-boss Scott Anderson hopes his side can spring a surprise against Division One side Ayr United.
The two teams meet at Princess Royal Park on Saturday in the third round of the Scottish Cup.
And with the SPL giants joining the competition in the next round, the Highland League title hopefuls will be desperate to cause an upset and win a shot at the big time.
Anderson, who works as a community coach at Aberdeen FC , admits the chance to lead his side out against his employers would be something special.
“We have played against Aberdeen FC in friendlies a few times,” he said.
“But I am always worried that our players will injure one of the Aberdeen FC first team squad.
“I wouldn’t like coming into work on the Monday if that happened!
“But although it would be great from a personal point of view to get Aberdeen FC in the next round, I would settle just to be in the hat.”
