I want Aberdeen FC to beat Gers in style

ABERDEEN FC boss Mark McGhee today admitted he won’t be happy if they simply scrape a win over Rangers.
McGhee was a member of the Aberdeen FC side Alex Ferguson famously slaughtered for stuttering to a 1-0 win over the Gers in the 1983 Scottish Cup final.
But he looks to have taken a lead from his old gaffer by admitting he wants to see his men record a comprehensive win over the Ibrox men at Pittodrie on Saturday.
McGhee said: “The dream for me on Saturday will be for us to play well, Rangers to play well, but for us to win.
“If Rangers turn up after the Stuttgart game tired and maybe struggling with a few injuries, and we beat them 1-0 because Charlie Mulgrew curls in one of his specials in a poor game, I won’t be all that happy.
“We would get three points, but there would be very little else for us to take out of a match like that.
“I would prefer Rangers to be in full flow but for us to play so well they aren’t able to beat us.
“Really earning a win would be far more valuable to us in terms of developing this squad of players.
“It would show them the sort of levels they are capable of reaching.
“It could be the catalyst for us to really push on and have a great season.
“It would also be marvellous for the younger players we will have involved.
“Getting a win over Rangers under their belts so early in their careers would really boost their confidence. It would encourage them to see they are an important part of a side that can compete with the best.”
