Oriental: Mount Street, Aberdeen

AFTER spending the majority of the afternoon being a good boyfriend and doing all of the ironing, I was deserving of a reward.

And with The Boss working late, there was no chance of me doing the cooking – I’m not that domesticated.

So, when she arrived home, there was only one option – a Chinese.

Feeling famished after a day of domestic agony, we decided to pig out and go for two starters.

The chicken satay skewers (£3.50) and pancake rolls (£2.90) were the perfect way to get going. The skewers had a lovely piquant taste, while the rolls, packed with veg, prawns and pork, were crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside.

The Boss’ shredded chilli beef (£6) and noodles (£3) had a lovely gooey sauce and just the right amount of spice to accompany the crispy meat.

I broke from the norm with my Oriental special (£6.70) and fried rice (£2), and was rewarded with a spicy dish laden with veg, chicken, pork, beef and prawns, with the meat in a light, but crisp, batter.
