GRAMPIAN Police were today continuing their investigations into a rape in an Aberdeen wood.
Grampian Police officers carried out a search of the area behind Cults Primary School in Aberdeen after the attack on a 36-year-old woman.
Police cordoned off part of the wooded area in Aberdeen as forensic officers carried out a detailed inquiry.
And more Grampian Police officers were dispatched to carry out high-visibility patrols in the surrounding streets in Cults.
Officers also carried out door-to-door inquiries and stopped drivers near the scene in Cults.
Detectives launched a hunt for the woman’s attacker after the Cults incident, which took place at about 8pm on Tuesday.
Grampian Police also warned women not to walk the streets of Cults alone while the investigation continued.
Cults resident Sheila Allan said she was frightened to walk through the woods alone.
The 77-year-old said: “I have lived in this area for around 40 years and I walk my dog every day, usually around that area.
“My husband takes the dog out after dark now. I have never been worried about going out in the woods before.
“There are a lot of people who use the woods to walk their dogs and kids cross through as well. A lot of people are worried about it.”
