SINGING sensation Alexandra Burke could be wooing fans with a special concert Aberdeen.
Thanks to a new competition, the public are being asked to vote for their home town to win a live performance from the X Factor star – with Aberdeen currently second out of 119 towns across the UK.
And Peterhead is in seventh place in the Nokia-run contest.
Christopher Cameron, a Peterhead marketing student, thinks it would be great if Aberdeen was to win a visit from the chart-topping star.
The 19-year-old fan said: “It is an amazing idea to have a competition where Alexandra Burke can come and perform in your home town.”
And Fiona Bosman, head of brand engagement, said people should get voting for their towns and cities.
She said: “We think this will really get the whole country to share their good things and bring the great thing that is Alexandra Burke to their town.”
Entries for the competition will be displayed on a signpost next to Tower Bridge, in London.
The town that submits the most entries in proportion to its population wins an exclusive concert.
Southport is currently in the lead.
Meanwhile, an extra date has been added to The X Factor Live Tour in Aberdeen for next year.
The new show, on Thursday, March 4, means there will be four performances in the area from the stars of the popular show.
Tickets for the extra Aberdeen show go on sale at 9am on Saturday.
