COVE Rangers defender Jordan Heads is determined to take full advantage of any opportunity he gets to force his way into the first team.
The 20-year-old featured prominently at the start of the season when skipper Eric Watson was out with an ankle injury.
Watson is now back fit and started last weekend’s Scottish Cup second round victory over Annan at centre-half, alongside Kevin Tindal, meaning Heads was relegated to the bench.
But when co-manager Tindal was sent off in the first-half, the former Ross County player was given another chance to shine.
Ahead of tomorrow’s Highland League clash at Keith, Heads hopes he gave Cove Rangers’ management team of Tindal and Jerry O’Driscoll another selection headache.
He said: “I found it tough against Annan, but there were a lot of experienced guys around me to help me through the game.
“I enjoyed it, and hopefully I can keep playing the way I am.
“When I first started the season, I did not expect to be involved this much, so I’m delighted I have been playing.
“I just have to play for my place and try to do well week after week.
“I have already played against a lot of experienced guys in the Highland League, and I am just going to take what I have learned and hopefully expand on it.”
