CLAIRE and Royston Walker are ready to put a smile on your face – with their beautiful house.
The couple, who both work as dentists, are selling their four-bedroom home in Ellon which has been styled immaculately.
So it will be perfect for a busy family looking for a home that’s ready to move into with a minimum of fuss.
Claire, 31, whose practice is in Oldmeldrum, said: “Anyone buying a house will want to put their own stamp on it when they move in.
“But very little will need to be done here.
“We bought it when it was brand new, five years ago.
“It’s a Scotia Home which, I think, has a high-quality finish to it.
“And when we moved in, we opted to upgrade the fixtures in the kitchen.
“It has granite worktops which are so easy to maintain – as well as looking nice – I use them like chopping boards and they’re just great.”
Claire and Royston, 34, whose practice is on Crown Street, share their home with little daughter Lexie, 2.
And the layout of their living space has been perfect for Claire, as she runs the family home.
The ground floor is almost entirely open plan, with the kitchen leading to the airy sun room, family room and dining room, with further double doors into the lounge with its gorgeous marble fireplace.
“I enjoy doing lots of cooking and baking in the kitchen,” she said.
“But it’s important to me not to feel shut out when I’m doing things.
“So it’s great having the open plan layout because Lexie can be playing and I can watch her while I’m making dinner.
“And on Christmas Day, I still feel part of the conversation, even though I’m in the kitchen preparing food.”
Another charming feature of this home is the sun room, which overlooks a huge corner garden plot – and it is the perfect place for the family to relax in during the day.
But it’s to Claire’s favourite room, the Laura Ashley-inspired lounge, with its cosy chocolate tones and floral furnishings, that mum and dad escape to in the evening.
“The lounge is probably my favourite room because it’s where we relax when Lexie has gone to bed,” said Claire.
“It’s a nice feeling as you approach the end of the day and you know you’ve got a few hours to spend together, just the two of you.”
Crimond Drive has a strong family feel to it, with a park in the centre where youngsters play and go to ride their bikes.
Claire added: “There’s a strong sense of community here and we’ve held barbecues together in the park.
“The street is in an oval shape with the park in the centre, so the cars have to drive slowly around it.
“And you can see the children playing from the windows and see they’re nice and safe.
“It’s a lovely street to raise a family.”
Claire and Royston are now on the lookout for an older property to restore.
