HOTSHOT Danny Milne is aiming to fire Cove Rangers to victory against Inverurie Locos tomorrow – and show why his old club should have played him more often.

Milne is ready to return to Harlaw Park for the first time since his summer switch to Cove Rangers.

The striker admits one of the reasons he left Inverurie Locos was because he did not feature often enough.

Competition between strikers at Inverurie Locos was fierce last season, with Milne, Kenny Coull, Neil Gauld, Ryan Broadhurst, Scott Michie and Thanh-Tan Tran all on the books.

Milne also claims he was promised changes to his contract which did not materialise.

He said: “I originally got told I would get a new contract and there were going to be some stipulations with it.

“Then I was told it wasn’t going to happen. That was one of the reasons why I left, but there were a few of them.

“At times I wasn’t playing as much as I thought I could.

“I was getting taken off early in games.

“Because there were so many strikers, it wasn’t easy to please everyone.

“So it was a culmination of things which led to me wanting a change.

“The bosses here, Jerry O’Driscoll and Kevin Tindal, were interested, so I went to see them. I liked what they had to say.”

Inverurie Locos refused to comment on what Milne had to say about his contract.
