Dunhill boost for Ramsay

RICHIE Ramsay’s chances of retaining his European Tour card received a boost after Paul Casey withdrew from next week’s £3million Dunhill Links due to a rib injury.

Former US amateur champion Ramsay, 26, is 141st in the Race to Dubai standings but needs to finish in the top 115 to secure full playing rights for next year.

Aberdonian Ramsay said: “It is a huge event and a good week could go a long way towards my card, if not securing it altogether.”
