SOME nights nothing quite does the job like a chipper especially after a hard work out at the gym.
And the aromas wafting from Mike’s Famous Fish and Chips seemed to pull me through the door.
After struggling what to choose, I went for corn on the cob for starters (£2.40). The large buttered and salted cob was juicy and flavoursome. In fact it was so tasty that, without putting it down and before I knew it, all the corn was gone.
Next up I went for a white pudding supper (£3.70).This filling main course provided a decent amount of squishy chips smothered in ketchup.
And the large white pudding was close to perfection with the light batter and delicious filling.
My friend decided to steal a few of my chips for her single fish (£3.80). She said the batter was not too thick or crispy and the fish was succulent.
Her only gripe was that the server put too much salt on.
For £9.90 we had a filling supper for two. My only complaint would be that during the 10 minutes I had to wait the staff didn't say a word about the time it was taking.
