CRAIG MacMillan is out to shoot down his old side in the final of the Evening Express Aberdeenshire Cup.

The Buckie Thistle hotshot spent a year at Cove Rangers and hopes to put one over his former team-mates in tomorrow’s clash at The Haughs, Turriff.

“It’s always nice to play against Cove,” he said.

“I have fond memories of my time there, although the squad has changed quite a bit since my season there three years ago.

“I always loved playing at Allan Park. It’s such a tight pitch, so it’s great for strikers, and I do miss that.

“But that’s all in the past, and I’m completely focused on Buckie.”

MacMillan accepts he and his team-mates will have a battle on their hands against the league champions.

“Whoever you get in a cup final is going to be tough,” he said.

“You don’t get easy games in a final and Cove are certainly about as tough as you can get.

“We played against them in the league last week and it’s always strange playing back-to-back games.

“But we’re playing on a different pitch, which will make for an interesting tussle.”
