ABERDEEN FC goalkeeper Jamie Langfield was this afternoon drafted into Scotland’s World Cup qualifying squad.
National boss George Burley has turned to the 29-year-old to provide cover for the qualifiers against Macedonia on Saturday and Holland on Wednesday.
Langfield trained with Aberdeen FC this morning, and was this afternoon travelling to meet up with the national squad at their headquarters at Cameron House Hotel, Loch Lomond.
The Aberdeen FC stopper has been involved in previous Scotland squads but has yet to win a cap.
He will provide cover for Neil Alexander who picked up a knock this morning and will not be risked against Macedonia.
