ALLAN Park hosts a mouth-watering clash between Cove Rangers and Inverurie Locos tonight.

The champions face up to the title hopefuls in the Evening Express Aberdeenshire Cup in what promises to be an electric encounter.

Locos winger Neil McLean admits these are the type of games that players relish.

“The big games come thick and fast at this level, and there’s no respite,” he said.

“But it’s the big games you want to play in, so we’re happy with it.”

Both teams have hit the ground running in the league, and go into tonight’s game off the back of impressive results.

Cove demolished Rothes away 8-1 on Saturday, whereas Locos secured a hard-fought win at fellow title challengers Deveronvale.

McLean hopes his side can carry their form from that result into tonight’s clash.

He said: “We’re playing with a lot of confidence, especially after the win against Deveronvale.

“Any sort of result up at Princess Royal Park is fantastic, so we have been buoyed by taking all three points against them.

“It was a great result and hopefully we can carry the momentum on into tonight’s game.”
